Self-taught, Eleni is unrestrained by convention and method – free to express herself organically. Her abstract work is unique and emotive, often capturing what cannot be said, but that which can only be felt in one’s deepest soul. Although she’s been painting on canvas for 3 short years, she has created an extensive line of work, all one of a kind originals. She believes all of her paintings have a home, and that they have a purpose and meaning in the lives of others, and not just for herself. She takes delight in hearing what others see in her work, as they often see aspects that she herself had never noticed before. All of her paintings come from her soul and the depth of her being and as such are pure expressions that really say something.
Eleni is Karen Pierce, 34 year old artist originally from Tarpon Springs, Fl, where she gained a love of many cultures and grew up learning how to see people and to see their pain and experiences. She is one of many of Greek descent from this little Greek settlement on the Gulf Coast of Florida. She then moved to Big Sandy, TX at the age of 17 and has lived there ever since. Her adult life has brought her a growing depth in her art, and you can see that in her work. She has also been moved and influenced by her travels to Greece (especially to her island of family origin, Kalymnos in the Aegean Sea), Spain, and Portugal. Her experiences in all aspects of life (stemming from a lack of singular career focus!) have given her art many places to draw from. Her path has now bloomed into the world of painting and it has served her well to have such a colorful outlet for her passions.
She brings a fresh outlook to us through her modern, emotive style. Different. Unique. One of a kind. Eleni gets to the root behind the story, behind the paint and color. You’ll find something that is unique to you – that really speaks just to you.
